Fact Check: Employment was not the worst under Trump

VP Harris claimed that Trump left office with "the worst unemployment rate since the Great Depression." However, this is inaccurate. In Jan 2021, the unemployment rate was 6.4%, significantly lower than the 14.8% peak in April 2020 during the pandemic. As the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows, the highest unemployment rate since 1939 occurred early in the pandemic, not when Trump left office.
