TikTok has admitted defeat in music streaming

TikTok is calling it quits on its music-streaming app, TikTok Music, set to shut down on November 28. Launched just last July in a few countries, it struggled to build a strong user base—ranking 28th in Indonesia and 71st in Brazil but not even breaking the top 100 elsewhere. Ole Obermann, TikTok's global head of music, stated they're shifting focus to enhance TikTok's role in music discovery instead.
