US takeover of Gaza would be "serious violation of international law"

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the idea of a US takeover of Gaza, calling it a “serious violation of international law.” He vowed to protect Gazans’ rights, stating, “We will not allow the rights of our people… to be infringed upon.” He also welcomed Saudi Arabia’s rejection of the US plan and its “unwavering” support for Palestinian statehood.
