Telegram users can now buy a fake phone number with crypto

Telegram has released a new version, 9.2, of its encrypted messaging app that allows for account signups using purchasable blockchain-based identities instead of real phone numbers. To get an anonymous number, users can purchase one through the Fragment blockchain. While users could hide their mobile number on the app earlier, it was still an identifier that hindered anonymity.
